Interiors geek Xmas pop-up shop

Stuck for present ideas? Live near Stoke Newington? Then get down to This is a Pop-up Shop at the weekend (and early next week, for last-minute-Annies).

It's a joint venture from illustration collective 'Rude' and retro furniture emporium 'The Cobbled Yard'. Font nerds might be tempted by the delicious mugs on offer. Cake nerds will be dazzled by the baking skills of the Pop Tarts (having had lucky access to a preview sampler selection, I can highly recommend).

Put a vintage angel on the top of your tree

How gorgeous are these original 1940s-1960s Christmas decorations? They're from Shikasuki in London's Primrose Hill and, say the shop, took over a year to collect from all over the States and Russia. From rare 3D glass bears and Babushkas from Soviet Era USSR to these sweet, feather and porcelain 1940s angels – all are original and, to ease the spending frenzy guilt, remember that, unlike most things this time of the year, they're the ultimate in recycling too. Prices start at £3.50 for baubles and go up to £35, for the luscious angels pictured above.

More sexy stuff from the seventies

Check out 70s Style and Design, the lush, glossy and brand new book all about 70s style by my deeply stylish friends Kirsty 'the lady in the red coat is not allowed' Hislop, and Dominic 'architecuture/interiors supremo' Lutyens.

The Kids are Alright:
Britain's First Luxury Youth Club

OK, so it's not a domestic interior... but I was still rather excited by Open, the £12 million youth club in Norwich, featuring Vitra chairs, a VIP area (complete with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec alcove sofas and a crushed granite resin juice bar).
