Easter cushion give-away
& pop-up cushion shop

As a bit of an Easter present, I'm giving away a cushion from this marvellous array, below, all part of a mini pop-up craft fair happening next weekend in Covent Garden, central London.

So if you are nowhere near central London, this is your chance to get your hands on one. Read on – to win you just need to leave a comment underneath this post, with a link to your favourite interiors or design website – a shop, blog, or whatever – and I'll pick someone at random by scribbling all entries onto bits of paper and swishing them around in a hat, or maybe a mixing bowl...

The sale is being hosted by Holly and her partner, Anthony, who are trying to raise some money to go towards their fifth (and final), gruelling round of IVF (anyone who's been through that will know what I mean). They are such a happy, fun-loving, silly couple and would make spectacular parents – plus I'm desperate to be Auntie Kate... so am happy to do anything I can to support the cause.

Holly, whose beautiful collections I wrote about the other week, is a craft demon her flat has recently become a bit of a cushion factory: there are nearly 100 for sale, and just some of the beautiful designs are featured here. But it's not just cushions, it'll be a fun family day out too, as there are:

  • home-made cakes
  • home-knitted new baby clothes
  • friendly owl door-stops (scroll to end to see)
  • hand-made cards (scroll to end to see)
  • a spectacular three-person human fruit machine to play with

So bring children, large and small alike...

All the cushions in the sale come with removable, washable covers and hollow-fibre inner pads. They all have backs in soft, luxurious different coloured fabrics, from felt to tweed to boiled wool. Designs include Japanese fabric, exclusive prints from the South Pacific and vintage limited editions.

How cool is this Spiderman cushion for a comic-mad child's bedroom: it's made from an 80s T-shirt, and I love the original Marvel label detail.

Prices start at £5 for a pack of five hand-made cards with envelopes (left), £20 for an owl doorstop (above) and the cushions go from £25 up to £35 for a rare print fabric, like the fantastic limited edition Warhol-esque Palm Corned Beef design, a specially commissioned print all the way from the Kingdom of Tonga, left.

I have my eye on this and a beautiful dog-print fabric, which you can see via the Facebook link below.

WIN A CUSHION!

I have one of the orange bird designs (top and below) to give away. Want to win it? Simply tell me your favourite design or interiors bookmark, and why, in a comment on this post, below (or email me at kate@yourhomeislovely.com if all else fails, with 'cushion giveaway' in the subject header). I'll pick the lucky winner at random, with my eyes shut.

More cushions in that fabric will be on sale on the day if you would like more than one.

  1. My favourite design site is designsponge.com! Because I love the mix of content - the sneak peeks into a huge variety of (non show home) homes, craft and diy ideas and general interiors chit chat. I always feel inspired after logging on (and after flicking through the tome). Meera @ Bow Street x

  2. Apartmenttherapy.com for me - I follow them on Facebook and they always have something irresistible to look at (I am a sucker for chaises longues and bookshelves in particular). It's also fascinating and inspiring to see how people - especially those in US cities where space is at a premium - have done up tiny apartments for maximum comfort and style.

  3. I love Fresh Home the mixture of international architechture & interiors is the perfect distraction when I should be working. Not that I would ever spend my time day dreaming about living in a polished concrete appartment in Brazil when I should be doing something productive you understand...

  5. Ooh... hope I'm not too late, just seen this!
My favourite design site is recyclart.org because they freely exhibit all the amazing craftsmen and women from around the world showing their upcycled/ re-made furniture, lighting and art which even for the less creative types gives a lot of food for thought and inspiration!
I would love the orange birds cushion.
