Objects of the day: from the
Home 2014 show

I made flying visit to Home 2014 yesterday, a big interiors trade show at Earl's Court in London if you're not familiar.

Snapped some nice things. Here is a small selection, with more to come anon.

Danish design company, Ferm Living, have some nice new cushions (54 Euros) and a range of prints (30 Euros).

Hemingway Design have some gorgeous fabrics coming soon. Really like the blue/green one in the centre.

Surface View's latest print for walls is channelling the 80s big time.

Jamie Oliver's JME range has been bought and redesigned. The edibles are still the same inside, but spruced on the outside. There is also a range of ceramics about to appear. I like them. What do you think?

Graphic artist, James Brown, who you may remember from here, or from the Independent on Sunday's Christmas gift guide, which I compiled, has a new range of prints: the alphabet. Each letter is made from one linocut, printed at different angles. Love these. Get a closer look at his website, Generalpattern.net

James's pal, Mr Wingate – they were sharing their stand – has a new range of cups and plates. Very pleasing sizes, both, and tactile too. Check out his shop Wingateprint.com, where you can also see the lovely drawings he has of old London pubs.

Anorak – they of the colourful repeat horse, bunny, seagull and other animal prints – have branched into hills and trees. Perfect for a picnic.

And finally, after numerous tweets and emails, I was happy to meet the real Tania from Quirk and Rescue. Her company does a nice line in graphic designs for textiles and walls and they've just launched a new range of font based tea-towels. This was my favourite.

See the full range at their website (as well as Bauhaus, there's Arial and Courier too).

A pretty inspiring afternoon out all round.
